About Shipham

Shipham is a friendly village on the edge of the Mendip Hills in Somerset, England.  The Civil Parish of Shipham includes the village of Rowberrow and the hamlet of Star - a total population  of a little over 1100.  We are a flourishing community with active churches, a school and many societies and activities based at our Village Hall.

This is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, with pasture land and extensive forests.  Many bridleways and footpaths, including the West Mendip Way, cross the parish providing ready access to the hills and Mendip plateau, where there are extensive views across the Bristol Channel to the Welsh coast and Brecon Beacons beyond.
