The Churches of Shipham Parish

Shipham and Rowberrow belong to the United Benefice of Axbridge,
in the Diocese of Bath and Wells.

The Diocese has now given the green light to advertise for a Priest in Charge for the Benefice and an advert for the post can be found here, with a copy of the Parish Profile, which makes very interesting reading.

Part of the process has involved the Benefice producing a parish profile which is our shop window. It is a detailed document giving information to potential candidates on, amongst other things, the local context, the congregation, mission, buildings, the finances, the future, the deanery and the Diocese. It aims to be really clear in saying to potential applicants who we are and what we offer. The Benefice profile was written by a group of 10 people from each of our three parishes. It can be downloaded from the link above.

We now value your prayers that suitable applications will apply for the post and that we can make an appointment after the interviews which are scheduled for the end of January 2022.

Due to the recent retirement of our Rector, the Revd Tim Hawkings, we are currently unable to provide services every Sunday at all three churches. Please see the church notices page for the services available.

See announcements in Church Notices.
