EMERGENCY FOOD FOR LOCAL PEOPLE IN CRISIS
EMERGENCY FOOD FOR LOCAL PEOPLE IN CRISIS
Today in the local area there are families struggling to put food on the table. For people on low incomes, a sudden crisis - redundancy, benefit delay or even an unexpected bill - can mean having to choose between paying the rent and eating. The Foodbank offers us a way to help them.
Please donate items of food from your cupboard or from your shopping trolley. Please see the list on the right of suitable non-perishable food items > > >
There are collection boxes in the porch of St Leonard's Church and in Shipham First School. They are emptied regularly, and the food taken to the Foodbank in Cheddar for distribution. This is intended to be a long-term initiative for as long as needed.
Cheddar Foodbank operates as part of the UK-wide foodbank network of The Trussell Trust. For further information see www.trusselltrust.org/foodbank-projects
