Shipham Church

The Parish Church of St Leonard, Shipham

The Square, Shipham, Somerset  BS25 1TW

Our mission is to share the unconditional love of God, to nurture the faith of believers, and to proclaim the good news of Jesus Christ.

Shipham Parish Church was built  in 1843 on the site of a smaller, mediaeval church.  It is unusual in having an octagonal castellated bell-tower, and an impressive nave roof supported by arch-braced queen post trusses.  The tower houses a peal of six bells.  One  of the stained glass windows commemorates Hannah More, a local philanthropist.  The church is Grade 2 Listed, and was extensively re-ordered in 1996.

Times of Services

First Sunday        10.00 am United Benefice Communion in Axbridge (also on Zoom)

Second Sunday 6.00 pm Prayer and Praise

Third Sunday        10.00am   Together in Worship informal service
